Julie's Place

Julie has always had a love for building and creating things from wood. When it came time for her to renovate her cabin she already had some good ideas about what she wanted, but what she ended up with was stunning.
The white pine logs that would make up the exterior siding of Julie’s cabin was sawn on a Cook’s MP-32 sawmill by a local custom saw shop in WI.
Julie states “The exterior log siding came about by accident–I wanted to finish my outbuildings at my farm with something that would have character and a rustic flavor and the deadfalls in the woods were perfect for practice and figuring out the best way to achieve a good look. The fascia trim evolved after I figured out that the more character and wild knots were in it, the better it looked.” Julie also said she used velvet oil cabin and deck stain to get the appearance she was looking for. As for the interior wood she used natural tung oil and citrus solvent which eliminated the use of ‘hard’ chemicals.
The cabin itself is an 800 sq.ft. ‘New Cottage Style’ cabin, 3 beds & 1 bath, ledge stone gas fire place, and central air to name a few of the amenities; it is located in beautiful Lodi, WI.
Julie’s cottage is for sale and she has a website
www.lakewisconsingetaway.com where anyone can visit if they are interested in more information about this wonderful getaway cabin.
It’s amazing what you can accomplish with a little imagination and the right equipment.
